Picadito

Arcade football manager to play with friends.

Build your club, your stadium and your squad, and the matches are played: you control one player with the keyboard (or with your thumb on a phone) against the computer, for league points, in two-legged challenges or live against a friend.

What it is

Picadito is a tribute to Bola Social Soccer (2010), the Facebook football manager where you built your club and then played the matches yourself. Same idea: illustrated panels, chunky buttons, isometric club grounds that grow with your club, and arcade matches in the style of old PES and FIFA.

The economy is simple and honest: you earn Bollars by playing and from your stadium's gate, and spend them on stands, Market players or training at the Academy. That makes your team play better and your stadium earn more.

How to play

You control one player on your team; the rest of your team and the whole opponent are run by the computer. Control switches on its own to the teammate who receives a pass, and you can also switch by hand. Arrows with your right hand, actions with your left:

ESprint (the ball runs looser)Sprint
AShoot where you aimSlide tackle

Tips

  • Power is how long you hold the key: 0.8 s is the max. A bar under the player shows it (green pass, blue cross, red shot).
  • Aiming: what counts is the last direction you held while charging. A pass looks for a teammate within a 25° cone; if there's nobody, it goes straight.
  • First-time: if you release A, S or D without the ball, you stay “charged” and strike it as soon as it reaches you.
  • A little shooting help: if the line passes within 3 m of a post, the ball goes in.
  • Stamina: sprinting burns energy (about 7 seconds straight wears you out) and jogging recovers it. Below half, sprints lose punch; at half-time everyone's fresh again.
  • Before every match there's a short “how to play”, and it's always one tap away on the ? button next to pause.

📱 On a phone

On-screen controls show up: a floating joystick that appears wherever you put your thumb on the left half (pushing it to the edge is sprinting) and three big buttons — Shoot, Pass and Cross — that become Slide, Press and Tackle without the ball. You hold them to charge, same as the keys.

Game modes

Everything is played from the Play panel and the Friends panel:

League

The season's league. The game assigns you an opponent of your level (±2) and it stays fixed until you play it, so you can't reroll until you get a weak one. Worth 3 / 1 / 0.

Friendly

You pick the opponent. It pays Bollars and experience, but no league points.

Two-legged challenge

Like the original: you play the first leg at home against your friend's team (run by the computer) and your friend gets a “you've been challenged” to play the second leg. Aggregate wins. If they don't play the second leg within 3 days, the challenger wins. It counts as one league match for each.

Live

Both play the same match at the same time, each with their own team. The invite lasts 5 minutes. If someone disconnects for more than 20 seconds, they lose 0 - 3.

Quitting counts as a 0 - 3 loss, whatever the score. Closing the tab or losing your connection mid-match too: leaving when you're losing gets you nothing.

The match

  • Two 45-minute halves of game time that last 90 real seconds each, with stoppage time, half-time, set pieces and a goal cam with replay.
  • Before it, the preview: both crests, which stadium you're playing at, the capacity, the ticket price and how much you'll earn. At the end, the summary with the prize, the gate, the experience and the points.
  • Stats show when you play: VEL is speed and acceleration; ATA, close control and shot power; DEF, tackles and saves. A gold squad against a youth squad wins nearly every time.
  • The computer plays better the better its team's stats: it decides faster, picks better passes, marks tighter and its keeper reads shots earlier.
  • No cheating: the server replays the match with the same inputs and takes the score from there. The browser never sends goals.

Your club and grounds

  • You sign in with Google or email and password, pick your username and found the club: name, city and crest (shape and two colors).
  • You start with 1,000 Bollars, a stadium for 5,000 people and 11 youth players in a 1-4-4-2.
  • The screen is your club's grounds: an isometric diorama with the stadium in the middle, the clubhouse, the training pitch, the neighborhood, a pond and the city in the back. Drag it around and zoom with the wheel (or your fingers).
  • The panels — Club, Stadium, Squad, Shop, Play, Friends and Table — float over the grounds without taking you away from them.
  • Your crest's colors tint the crowd, the flags, the façades and the buildings. And the grounds grow with your stadium: more level, more buildings.

The stadium

The stadium is built piece by piece: 4 stands, the pitch and 4 decorations (lighting, scoreboard, signage and flags). Each spot holds one model; to change it, you first sell the current one (you get 50% back) and then buy the new one. Tapping a stand on the grounds opens that spot. The good models require a club level.

Pitch and decorations

  • Pitch (no pitch is dirt): synthetic, natural and premium.
  • Lighting: little lamps, floodlight towers, LED towers.
  • Scoreboard: hand-painted board, electronic board, giant screen.
  • Signage: painted or LED boards. Flags: supporters' banners or a full flag display.
The gate: (capacity × 0.5 + luxo × 60) × attendance. Attendance is 1 if you win, 0.6 if you draw and 0.3 if you lose. Luxo is what the pitch, decorations and boxes add: that's why they pay off even without adding seats. Example: the starting stadium (5,000 seats, luxo 2) after a loss brings in 786 Bollars.

Squad and Market

  • Your best 11 play in a 1-4-4-2. The squad goes from 11 to 20 players.
  • The Market has 100 players to sign, each with their own (generated, unique) face and attack, defense and speed stats. The best ones require a club level.
  • If you sell someone you signed, you get back 40% of what you paid. Youth players are released without refund.

Academy

You train players in real time: pick a player and a stat, pay, leave them training and come back to claim it. Each session adds 1 point. There are 3 slots at once (a finished one you haven't claimed still takes its slot) and a golden dot on the toolbar tells you when something's ready.

Each rarity has a ceiling you can't pass (youth 58, legend 99). The higher the stat, the longer the next point takes, and near the ceiling it also costs more. Training is the cheap but slow way; the Market, the fast and expensive one.

Bollars, XP and Gems

💰 Bollars

  • Match prize: 200 for a win, 80 for a draw, 30 for a loss — plus the gate if you play at home.
  • In a live match, the away side also takes 30% of what the home stadium would bring in.
  • Every transaction goes into a ledger that's never erased: your balance is, by definition, the sum of everything you earned and spent.

⭐ Experience and level

+10 XP per win, +4 per draw and +1 per loss. Every 50 XP you level up, and your level unlocks better stands and players.

💎 Gems

The rare currency. You earn them on reaching levels 3, 5, 10, 15, 20… and on each season's podium. They're spent on redesigning the club crest.

Seasons

A season lasts 14 days. League matches and challenges count. The season table sorts by points, then goal difference, then goals for; the all-time one, by level, experience and Bollars.

Status and how it's built

It's in ultra beta and played among friends: the balance changes often. Coming up: Managers (pick your starters and formation), the mini-city (buy the plots around your grounds), more economy tuning and final art.

How it's built

  • A TypeScript monorepo: web in React + Vite, API in Fastify + Prisma.
  • The isometric grounds and the match run on Phaser 3 (WebGL). All the art — stands, crowd, player faces — is drawn in code, and each piece can be swapped for an image without touching the game.
  • The match engine is deterministic: the same seed and the same inputs always produce the same match. That lets the server validate every result and lets live mode sync both players over WebSocket by sending only their inputs.
  • The code isn't public.
